BIOMARIN | EUROPEAN PATIENT AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Exploring what makes you, you.
Rare disease specialists BIOMARIN came to us to produce a series of films to coincide with the launch of the first therapeutic treatment option for children with achondroplasia; the most common form of disproportionate short stature. A sensitive and human storytelling approach was paramount.
We invited a number of people across Europe, who were born with perceived impairments, to share their experiences and listened to them to find out what factors they felt made them who they are.
Our key priority was to create the space to allow them to tell their stories frankly and in their own way. The film incorporated their own digital archives and retold in their native languages. We also scripted and crafted an animated explainer to support medical professionals in explaining Achondroplasia to expecting parents.
